Dear Colleagues and Friends,
Through the generosity of our ACPA members and corporate sponsors last year, the Foundation witnessed a banner year in philanthropic support with a 9% increase in gifts and an 8.3% increase in the number of donors who are members of ACPA—thank you!
With the generation and dissemination of knowledge and scholarship and a commitment to diversity, the Foundation contributes to the core values of ACPA and its members. We are grateful for the privilege of working on behalf of our members. Again, we thank you!
With these gifts, the Foundation is able to assist ACPA in offering professional development programs and other initiatives including scholarships to the Donna Bourassa Mid-Level Management Institute and grants to fund research in student development for our colleagues. Last year, we increased our grant program by 144%, thanks to the support of our donors. We also raised our overall support to ACPA by 17.5%—again, thanks to the support of donors like you.
Another new initiative of the Foundation is the establishment of our planned giving program, whereby members may consider funding ACPA programs in perpetuity. Under the leadership of Bill Bryan, a past president of ACPA and current Foundation board member, the planned giving program now offers valuable information and opportunities for our membership to create funding support for years to come. Last year, we welcomed 16 colleagues as Diamond Honorees in the Class of 2005, which recognizes the outstanding contributions of members to the profession. Such individuals represent the rich diversity of our field of study and work.
The Foundation board expanded its membership that includes colleagues from our profession and related areas whose strengths and experience will enhance our philanthropic venture of supporting ACPA and its members. Through the efforts of these individuals and those of the ACPA leadership, we are able to expand programs and services that benefit our members.
But most importantly, it is through the generosity of our annual donors who make all of this possible. And, we are most grateful to you.
