Larry Darnell Roper


Larry Darnell RoberCurrently Larry Roper serves as Vice Provost for Student Affairs and Professor of Ethnic Studies at Oregon State University. Larry received his Ph.D. from the University of Maryland, M.A. from Bowling Green State University, and A.B. from Heidelberg College in Tiffin, Ohio. He has held a myriad of positions within Student Affairs in nine different institutions of higher education and has taught courses ranging from Organization and Administration of Student Affairs to the Dynamics of Isms.

Larry served as Editor of the NASPA Journal and has written numerous book chapters and articles. He is a very active and involved member of his community, serving on such boards as the United Way of Benton County and Community Alliance for Diversity. Larry is a humble individual with no airs about him, yet he stands above many by his unwavering commitment to and focus on serving students. No matter his role or position, Larry always behaves with grace, insight, and caring for the other person.
