Patricia (Trish) M. Volp

In Patricia (Trish) Volp’s more than 25-year career in student affairs, she has worked in small and large institutions, public and private, highly selective and open—what has remained unchanged through the years is Trish’s staunch advocacy for student learning and development. Trish has been a colleague, mentor, leader, challenger of the status quo and, most of all, friend to many within our profession.

Trish is a teller of truth; she is not afraid to take a stance about a topic that is unpopular or may even bring retribution. Trish is known for her wit and wisdom; she has the uncanny ability to offer a comedic observation at exactly the right time to make a point or to ease a difficult situation. What makes Trish truly exemplar is her unassuming attitude: she quietly goes about her work and is unaware of the high standard that she sets for those around her. Trish is one of the true gems in our profession.
