Elizabeth J. Whitt

Elizabeth (Liz) Whitt is a Professor and Program Coordinator for Graduate Programs in Student Affairs Administration at The University of Iowa. She received her Ph.D. from Indiana University, M.A. from Michigan State University, and B.A. from Drake University. Liz is a prolific writer and researcher, known for her work with Involving colleges, and most recently, working with others on Student success in college: Creating conditions that matter. She is involved in many funded research projects including the Boyer Partnership Assessment Project. Liz received the Annuit Coeptis Award and Senior Scholar designation from ACPA and the Robert H. Shaffer Distinguished Alumna/us Award from Indiana University. Liz was Dean of Students before becoming a faculty member; hence, she is well respected by faculty and practitioners alike. One of her colleagues noted, “When I entered this profession it was all about students. I never anticipated how important it would be to have sustained relationships that inspire you, mentor you and befriend you. Liz keeps me in the business and makes me hopeful about our profession’s future.”
