General Responsibilities
of the Educational Leadership Foundation Board of Trustees
- Create and review a statement of mission and purpose that
articulates the Foundation’s goals, means, and primary constituents
served
- Assist in developing the annual budget and ensure that proper
financial controls are in place
- Provide adequate resources for the organization
to fulfill its mission
- Ensure adherence to legal standards and ethical
norms
- Actively participate in an overall planning process and assist
in implementing and monitoring the plan’s goals
- Recruit and orient
new board members, assess and comprehensively evaluate board performance
- Clearly
articulate the Foundation’s mission, accomplishments,
and goals to the public and garner support from the communities served
by the Foundation
- Determine which programs are consistent with the Foundation’s
mission and monitor their effectiveness
